Online Dispute Resolution
Consumers in the European Union have the option to use the European Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform, which is available at: http://ec.europa.eu/odr. This platform provides a single access portal, facilitating the resolution of disputes between consumers and traders.
Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)
In addition to the online platform, consumers can take advantage of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) methods. ADR is an out-of-court procedure based on the voluntary consent of both parties. In Bulgaria, general conciliation commissions operate to assist in reaching agreements between consumers and traders in disputes related to contracts for the sale of goods and the provision of services.
The General Conciliation Commission with headquarters in Plovdiv and a scope of activity covering the Plovdiv region is competent to consider disputes between the trader and the consumer.
